Good afternoon.

Based upon the live TV footage courtesy of Sky Sports News just now of Hugo Loris arriving at The Lodge, it is ambitious to contest that the L’Olympique Lyonnais goal keeper will sign for Spurs today.

Last night of course, things looked like they’d gone done down the tubes. This was published on the L’Olympique Lyonnais official site last night.

Hilarious quotes from Jean-Michel Aulas, Lyon’s chairman.

“We have had people speaking all night with Daniel Levy. He talks a lot and goes back on what we’ve agreed in writing. The things as they were at 5am were not the same at 10am.”

In short that statement said that the proposal submitted last night by Spurs was significantly different to a proposal that was agreed in principle some four days ago.

Bless.

He must be new.

BIOYC!

Apparently so yes. Seeing as our chairman is Mr. Dan Levy I imagine he started the negotiating at £1 a week for the lad. It will be a long afternoon of negotiating I imagine. I think we will get this done though as it will be seen as unsuccesful if we sold VDV without a replacement.

    Modric – Out
    Bassong – Out

    Thudd – ?
    Dawson – ?
Parker – Injured and possibly Out
    Lennon – ?
    Kaboul – Injured
    Rose – Loaned
Bostock – I have why they don’t use him
    Bentley – ?

    Lloris – In
    Sigurdsson – In

Always a but with Levy- he’s probably made over 10 million if Moutinho doesn’t go through. Sky now dropping hints that Dempsey in means Moutinho won’t happen. Thought the door was shut firmly on Willian when we offered 11.8 million for him.

I would suggest that judging by last season’s performances Jenas is more than an adequate replacement for VDV,perhaps better as he’s scored more brilliant goals against the Goons than Rafa ever did?

    [Reply]

    doctorstefanfreund Reply:

Maybe like for like but none-the-less we’re still two of our most influential midfielders light. A class player like Moutinho would fill the gap left by modric and vdv.

    [Reply]

    essexian76 Reply:

VDV went missing for the best part of last season, you’re thinking of the season before! He did nothing, so yes we’re missing Modric, and that’s a big hole to fill, but if the player want’s more than we’ve got-then it aint going to happen

  • tonimontana Says:

spend the fucking money Levy! spend it you (unt.

he just cant help it can he? we need a Modric replacement. a playmaker. yet with an hour to go he is still being so tight with it.

    [Reply]

    doctorstefanfreund Reply:

If any player knows what AVB wants it’s Moutinho. That’s fairly obvious. We’re moving towards a new system, one which might take time (points) to grasp and Moutinho makes sense as a quality player and one who can support ABV’s transition.

how does selling modric,VDV,Krankie, pienaar,GDS and replacing them with dembele and dempsey equate to good business?

the ‘in levy we trust’ fanboys will have fun with business like that

    essexian76 Reply:

So what you’re saying is, because we haven’t signed the players you consider to be top drawer, then it’s been a disaster? VDV,is no loss for starters, just a problem removed for a decent price. We’ve got players that are more dynamic and fluent in return. It’s nothing to do with in Levy I trust, it’s more about being realistic with the funds and financial limitations our circumstances dictate. Moutinho’s agent spent all day brokering a deal and we simply couldn’t afford his wages-end of-it’s all well and good going out on a limb and putting the club in jeopardy-but remember the last chairman to do that caused us to tread water for a generation and I’d prefer to be where we are now-than where we were 20 years ago thanks

    Oh Shit!!!!

Ah well not a bad result if you ask me, though I really did want Moutinho instead of Dempsey, but hey, in Dembele (ex forward) and Dempsey and Sig we have three midfielders that can actually score goals and plenty of them.

VDV will be missed for his sublime skills and deft touch, but this season I am really looking forward to a few free kicks actually landing in the net not 20cm outside the post.

Levy gets a pass mark maybe a B+ (if we had Moutinho added it would have been a distinction)

This third party ownership shit has got knobs on it. Again, if everything else was sorted and all we had was this third party to sort, why was it left so late?

    Epic Fail springs to mind..

I don’t blame Levy, surely he has minions who run around on things… maybe Darryl the shoe shine boy was left in charge of getting the third party sorted and when the time came to sign everything Daniel says to Moutinho;s agent its all good I have one of my top lads working on the third party as we speak he should be here any minute now….

    Late night Spurs here.

If Dembele was playing for a fancy named European club like Poro or Lazio you’d be up in arms. Wicked player.

Have you forgot who you are – we are Spurs. We are no sell-out. We work within our means.. Levy tried for Moutinho but hay-ho. No one promised anything but Skysports.. pathetic.

VDV was always a square peg in a round hole (we loved him of course – and his missus), but to his missus it is.

Andre (yes, let’s call him that) needs to galvanise a team. It’s not FIFA x, it’s about the boys playing for the club – Dembele will slot in for weekend and the new US contigent (who can fault the commitment of our OHIO Brad) will FIGHT.
