Bonjourno.

A genuine sense of moving forward is the vibe I’m being told about. Take that last Sunday Express article, work out the diametric opposite and that is where the club is presently at.

Adebayor is not ‘done’, but the man himself is really keen to be part of next season’s campaign with us. The change of coach hasn’t effected his position as he is keen to prove he’s worth a first team shirt under ‘whoever’ , which is superb.

The second snippet is in relation this Oscar chap. The attacking Mid from Brazil. Whilst the exact figure isn’t confirmed, what I am told is that negotiations have reached a point whereby both parties want to ‘work something out.’

Ooh my days.

I think Internacional is waiting to see if a bigger offer comes in that we have to match. If not, they will accept our offer and he will be ours before the trade deadline. IMHO of course.

    Lloris / Butland

Looks tasty – although how many Brazilian wonderkids have really made it over here?

    MarseilleYid Reply:

Can’t see the Butland thing happening, not for the price they are quoting. Lloris is only 25, captain of his country and not that much more expensive. Looks like a much more likely deal to me of the two.

Gilberto Silva did ok for the scum.

    A line up of:
    Lloris
    Walker Verts Kab BAE
    Mout Sandro VDV

    Oi.

I’m not claiming to know anything outrageous; just sharing some tidbits of info that I have learnt through Brazilian contacts…

I (barely) know Kaka’s agent and asked him last month what the situation with him was. Basically, he is happy to stay at Madrid for now if nobody comes in with a big wage offer. He is 30 and knows he has only one last pay-day left in him. PSG and Man City (and Madrid obviously) are the only clubs that can pay what he wants. MLS is an option for future, but not now.

For those who would have liked to see him in the Lilywhite though, apparently Oscar was billed as the new Kaka while at Sao Paulo so keep an eye on that. His progress has plateau’d somewhat of late since moving to Inter, but highly rated nonetheless.

As for Damiao, everyone in Brazil I’ve spoken to says he would be a perfect fit for the Premiership in terms of tall target man. Not so much in terms of pace, technical ability, etc. He is in no rush to leave Inter and risk his place at 2014 World Cup.

Paulo Henrique, who we were linked to yesterday, does not get much credit due to his teammate Neymar’s presence at Santos, but is the real deal. Redknapp said he had never heard of him last season, but AVB has been in Brazil recently. Will definitely be aware of him.

I think that comes from last season, when many neutrals, and even Gooners like Adrian Durham, were saying we were playing the best football the PL has ever seen. To give a racing analogy, the whips were out on Arsen*l & Chavski and we were sitting with a handful 13 lengths clear up with the Mancs and it was all about us, or the manager, choking our tactics and our football that brought us back to the pack of also rans.

The idea that we have a new manager, with tactics and a warchest, to improve on last year’s team just has to be exciting. We’ve suffered many false dawns and our wilderness years, so we can take it if it goes tits up, but it’s not just the Spurs fans that can see the pontential of us putting the pedal to the metal, the rest of the League are half expecting it too.

Lloris,Butland,Pereira,Fryers,Vertonghen,Oscar,Dzagoev,Sahin,Damiao,Hulk,Sturridge,Remy and Higuain have all been linked with Spurs over the last two days by the press.
I know we might miss out on one or two of these – but hope we don’t end up with a team lacking experience in the Premier League.

Was just looking at that. Signing kids from Yanited? What next!? Blimey, one minute we only sign 40-year olds, next we’re going to have the youngest squad in the prem… I’m a bit dizzy!

I’m loving the idea that players are turning down the opportunity to play for Yanited and Liverpool so they can be part of the Tottingham revolution.

I’d be lying if I didn’t get a tickle of joy hearing about RvP holding a gun to the head of the Arse :) I can’t see him coming to Spurs because he wants more lucre than that. Why not RM? It was good enough for Van Nistelrooy. Back to us though I hope they announce Vertonghen soon and settle the Modric situation. I hope the rumours are true and he stays for another year. Let’s buy Lloris and some strikers!! I don’t mind Ade, at least we know he can play in the EPL. If they get this Oscar bloke it will be like the 70s all over again, except this time our dynamic duo are from Brazil not Argentina!!

  • Will Says:

Adebayor is NOT good enough for us: he doesn’t score enough and he is NEVER in the box for the 1000 crosses caught by the opposing GK.
IMO he is a total waste of money as ANY deal has to compensate him for his 170k/week at MC and we can afford two better strikers for that much money.
    RVP?
OMG!! he wants 220k/week, he is 29 and he is always a potential crock…not exactly the young player that we are seeking is he?

We are now linked to almost every decent player in Europe and South America, now I realise that 95% of this is rubbish but if we manage to land the other 5% then we’re on a roll.
Sure the roller coaster ride with that last chap was amazing at times and demoralising at others but I have great optimism that DL and AVB will build a dynasty over the next 10 years and motivate this club from top to bottom. Young players will flourish and progress through the ranks. The Academy will set the standard others could only dream of.
I am more excited about this coming season than I have been for over 25 years, action in the transfer window this early is virtually unheard of, we usually wait until the last minute and give the newbies no chance to gel.
DL has torn up the old script and we are now working to a masterpiece, wake me up somebody.

A number of reports are linking us with a move for Theo Walcott (Villas-Boas is said to be a keen admirer). Would we welcome such a move? Personally I think that Walcott has potential that has not been realised down the road. He doesn’t seem to have improved much as a player since his move from the south coast. Under the right sort of tutelage he could develop into a very good player indeed, so I for one am hoping the rumours have some substance.

Plus, it’d piss the Gooners off no end.

Wouldn’t want RVP either, even if it was remotely plausible that he would come to us. He is a wanker, let him join the other ones at City. Good player, yeah, but by god you’ve got to draw the line somewhere.

Getting Ade would be like a new signing. The man is immense in his selfishness and talent; the two seconds he can hold the ball more then the otehr strikers is the two seconds needed for Sigg to move into killer shooting range.
