Guten Abend.

We’ve never had it so good. The wretched irony of those words have yet to be proved on the old green stuff but the manner in which the Club are conducting their business this window thus far is pleasing.

A brand new hot shot manager and one of the Eredivisie’s if not Europe’s finest signed sealed and delivered.

Now what?!

Modric is off to Los Blancos with a fee suspected to be in excess of £30m.

The interesting tidbit of the weekend is that Stefan Freund is rumoured to be returning to The Lane in a coaching capacity.

Freund’s work with aspiring young German players has earned him plaudits. And for those that may be contemplating a giggle at this thought, it’s a matter of fact that ‘ok’ or worse footballers tend to make better coaches and managers than stellar ones…

As for the freebie, I have a rather fetching iPhone case to give away tonight. Express an interest on here or get involved on Twitter to be in the ever benevolent HH hat.

Having supported Spurs since th days of Crooks Archibald Ardilles and Hoddle I can’t remember being this excited and expectant about a preseason and the coming season. If rumours are true and we get Ade, we are one or two players away from being awesome (on paper only at the moment that is). If AVB can get more out of either Bentley or Gio also,we are totally on like Donkey Kong!!

I believe that the most influential footballer ever to wear the Lilywhite shirt, Danny Blanchflower would be excited and proud of the recent steps taken in the evolution of his beloved Spurs.
Danny had a vision for this club when he signed almost 60 years ago under the tutelage of Aurther Rowe, we have had our moments over those 60 years but never really dominated, never reached our full potential, is this the time ?
It is virtually unheard of in modern day football for a backwater like Manchester to dominate it’s National League, the Capital City’s top team generally wins the Premiership, let us rise to the challenge. COYGS

  • LLL Says:

Can’t quite believe that. Modric has all but swapped his Lillywhites for Real’s according to the press.

As for Rafa, the time would seem right for Levy to cash in while he still can. We had a good couple of years from him but he will not fit AVB’s tactics as he is so un-versatile that we had to change everything to accommodate him. He will also be the first to kick up a stink, perhaps even Lampard-style, if he’s benched as he’s used to being the top man under Redknapp. So yeah, cash in now and say thanks for the memories. I’m sure we would get 10m or so for him, money back or even better.

Alspur I dont go by statistics in footie.
Tottenham being a team with so many attacking players is dynamic when they are running forward. Modric adds to that. I just feel that killer passes are few and the odd shot is a really good one.
I find when we need a game changer it was VDV or Bale making it happen or maybe Lennon.
Im not saying Modric isnt good.He is a good even great player but we need the type of player who will change a game. He doesnt in my opinion, well not like a Silva or even Mata. Its an opinion and in footie thats what I like about it.You can throw some of the statistics out….except of course Messis :-)
